Choking Risks Associated with Children and Nuts
The American Academy of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery has issued a statement reminding parents and caregivers of choking risks associated with young children and nuts.
Parents and caregivers should be aware about choking risks especially posed to young children and infants by peanuts, tree nuts, and nut fragments. In addition, "Anyone with known allergies and parents or caregivers of children with known allergies should not attempt to treat the allergies at home, but rather should seek medical care," said James C. Denneny III, MD, Executive Vice President and CEO of the Academy.
